Make Up Heroes

Thursday, 6 November 2014

Hey Peeps!

So it is officially winter, cold nights, icy chills and the obligatory cold and flu season.

As a mummy this typically means I need a make up bag that has super human powers that can transform me from pale and drawn to can-can life and soul of the party in under 5 mins.

So let me introduce you to my current fabulous four.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser in Nude

The more I use this the more I love it as the shade is perfect for winter light and my natural non tanned skin tone. I still use moisturiser under this as a base which gives my skin a double hit of moisture - it certainly needs it at this time of year! The formula is lovely and gives a dewy finish that lasts all day. This product can also be layered up subtly ( very useful for under the eyes and round red noses).

Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow Duo in Tansoleil/Bettina

This is the best cream blusher I have ever bought. Firstly because the shades are so subtle, muted and natural and can be combined or worn individually. I also use these on my lips in the summer months, making this probably the most value for money product I have ever bought.

Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow in Patrice

I was once told, if you look tired and feel shattered wear a bright lip to distract from those tired peepers. This shade works a treat as a lip stain and also as a dot of blush for those winter rosy cheeks.
(Best to combine with a lip balm if wearing on the lips particularly in this weather).

Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Leather Black Mascara

I bought this specifically for wearing to work as the formula doesn't flake and the impact is impressive.
I always judge a mascara by the wand and panic if I see a pathetic skinny brush. This will not disappoint, just like Benefit Bad Gal but significantly cheaper, leaving you with black thick lashes.

Have you got any super star products I could add to my collection?
