Take one normal girl...before and after foundation...hey presto!

Hi Pretty Peeps,
Today’s topic is Foundation!  Foundation is the canvas for your  make up. So, of course it needs to be flawless to give you the perfect  platform for your blusher, eye make up etc…
In today’s world where everything is in high definition flawless skin is seriously in demand and with our lives being busier and more stressful than ever maintaining perfect skin is trickier than ever, thankfully the beauty brands have come to our rescue with some amazing products that will really give you the complexion and finish you are looking for.
Foundation Key Rules :
  1. Foundation is to be used to cover and give an even finish, it is not a mask so try not to over apply. A small penny size amount should suffice.
  2. Blend, blend, blend – especially around your jaw line and near your ears and brow.
  3. Match your foundation in store and check in natural daylight, most stores will give you a sample of their product to try. This can be really useful to colour match but also to ensure you do not react to any of the ingredients. Test your foundation on your jaw bone to check colour.
  4. Always remove your foundation, this is the main product that will cause blocked pores and spots if not removed to allow the skin to breathe and rejuvenate.
  5.  Never use an overly dark foundation to give an instant tan on pale skin, you will just look muddy. Only go one shade darker than your natural skin tone to use during the summer or when tanned.
  6. Just because a foundation has SPF does not mean it is strong enough as a sunscreen in real sun abroad (not typical drizzly UK days) You still need sunscreen ladies!!!
If you are looking for lighter coverage try tinted moisturisers and BB creams which give added benefits without such heavy coverage – these are perfect for young skin. I also have freckles which I love and don’t like to hide, with a BB cream these do show through and give a more natural look to my make up.
If you do need a slightly heavier coverage I wholly recommend Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in the light formula for good coverage but a less heavy appearance. If you do want a truly porcelain finish the original Estee Lauder Double Wear is amazing, I wore this on my wedding day and did not have to touch up all day.
My favourite products are :

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

Estée Lauder Double Wear

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation
When it comes to application to be honest I use my fingers! But I am sure the other Beauty Bloggers can recommend brushes if you prefer for day to day use.

I love using my finger tips as I can apply into little creases and blend thoroughly as well as not having to worry about cleaning brushes etc!
For day to day application this is fine but for big events a brush application will be more even.

Apply your foundation before concealer and contouring @LizaPrideaux has an awesome film on contouring that is a must!

Hope this has helped lovelies!

Big hugs
