The Coolest of Weddings

Tuesday, 6 August 2013

Alabama Slammers, ice cream cones and croquet on the lawn...this was my type of wedding :)

As I arrived and I saw the groom and ushers in Converse, I knew this wedding was going to be achingly cool but the great thing about my dear friend Sarah, is that it would be the kind of accessible cool that would be enjoyed by everyone.

This wedding had everything but pretence. The words genuine, the venue inviting and every detail beautiful, but not in that over faffed kind of way.

My one task other than to dance like a 'wild one' was to give a reading.
I have always been proud that one of my skills is public speaking, students, academics, family events you name it I'll happily present and say a few words.
So yesterday, as I walked up and started reading the gentle words before me, the emotion hit and I continued reading holding back tears.
I am not sure if this was the 'mum' hormone clicking in again or that the words resonated so much with my own life and the overwhelming sense of love in the room but from now on I am sticking to project planning and implementation presentations!

Anyway, I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story :)

My outfit :

Dress Oasis, Hair flower Accessorize, shoes Zara, ring Miss Selfridge, bag Debenhams.

My make up :

Foundation Double Wear Estée Lauder in Ecru, blush VIVO, eyeshadow 'Look Green Eye palette' (will review later this week), lipstick Bobbi Brown in Bikini Pink/ lipgloss in Nude.

I will do more detailed posts on the pretty make up stuff shortly...

P.s Also featuring in the piccies is my lovely new friend Amanda and her awesome red Carvela shoes, my own lovely hubby Si, as well as lots of other lovely delicious features from Rick and Sarah's magical day xx

Lots of love from a gushy wedding guest x
